Forehead Lift
The effects of aging often show up first in the brow and forehead area. Years of facial animation, squinting and the effects of gravity
result in frown lines, wrinkling across the forehead and an increase heaviness of the eybrows. Your face has a tired, angry or sad expression
regardless of how you feel. To improve a sagging brow or deep furrows between the eyes, many people choose a procedure known as FOREHEAD LIFT.
A forehead lift can be done using a direct or endoscopic approach. A direct forehead lift requires incisions that are placed either at the
hairline, behind the hairline, or in some cases, above the brow or in the mid-forehead. Endoscopic techniques allow the procedure to be done
using small incisions just behind the hairline. The endoscope is used to allow the surgeon to visualize the operative site. With either approach,
the brows are lifted to reduce the sagging of the brow and eyelids. Excess tissue will be removed and the skin will be tailored before the incisions
are closed. For most patients, the recovey time is one to two weeks.
Prior to forehead surgery, Dr. Frank W. Shagets will give you a detailed description of the procedure and discuss realistic expectations.
The type of anesthesia, the surgical facility and the risks and costs inherent to the procedure will be outlined.
