CO2 Laser

The CO2 Laser is used to resurface facial skin. The CO2 Laser instantly vaporizes the top layer of skin and tightens the tissue below. It can be used on the entire face, or only in selected areas, to soften fine lines and wrinkles and to remove certain blemishes. The skin resurfaces in 5-7 days and results in smoother, younger looking skin. It is normal for the treated area to be quite pink or red for the first 7-10 days. The pink color will gradually fade over the next 4-6 weeks. Patients who have dark skin or severely sun-damaged skin and who have had deep treatment may find that the pink floor or redness may persist for 3-6 months. This pinkness can be camouflaged with make-up.
